A french language magazine, Voir, publishes an interesting guide to Montreal restaurants. You can view it by clicking here. Unfortunately, it is only available in french as of now.

Le Dauphin is located footsteps away from Montreal's Chinatown, and you will find many asian restaurants there. To get there, turn right when you exit the hotel from the front entrance, and then turn right again when you reach de la Gauchetiere st. Walking to Chinatown shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. A fine restaurant there is Restaurant Basilic which serves adequate thai and chinese fare at reasonable prices. Basilic is located at 83, de la Gauchetiere West (click here to view map).

If you'd like to have a bite for lunch, Sur Bleury offers an interesting menu. Sur Bleury Restaurant is located a few seconds from the hotel at 1067 De Bleury street (map here). Just turn right after exiting the hotel, and follow de Bleury street up to 1067. Sur Bleury does not usually serve dinners (lunch only). The restaurant's menu is available on their website. Another option for lunch is Café du Parquet, which is also located very close-by at 1000, place Jean-Paul-Riopelle (map) (inside the entrance of the large CDP building). Café du Parquet usually features a large assortment of food for all tastes, served cafeteria-style, and take-out is available.

Nyk's Bistro & Pub is a good option for dinner, and offers some excellent food served in a relaxed atmosphere. Nyk's is on the same street as the hotel (de Bleury), and you can just follow De Bleury street up until you reach 1250 De Bleury (map). Walking over there takes approximately 5 minutes.

One of Montreal's most famed restaurants is Schwartz's, which serves its world-famous smoked meat. Schwartz's is located on the "main" at 3895 St-Laurent boulevard (map). The restaurant itself is small, and there can be some waiting at times, but it is definitely an original Montreal icon.

If you're looking for a steakhouse, Houston is very close nearby at 1001 Square-Victoria (map). Another possible choice would be Gibby's, located at 298 Place d’Youville in Old Montreal (map). Gibby's is definitely much pricier.

For fine dining, Toqué! is one of the best restaurants available. Toqué! is only a short walk from the hotel at 900 Place Jean-Paul-Riopelle (map); reservations can be made by calling 514-499-2084 (closed on sundays and mondays). If you're willing to travel a little further, Joe Beef is also a solid choice for gourmet dining and is located at 2491 Notre-Dame West (map) in the historic Pointe-Saint-Charles neighbourhood; reservations there should be made by calling 514-935-6504.

If you're in the mood for Mexican cuisine, one of the possibilities is Casa de Mateo, which is located in Old Montreal at 440 Saint-François Xavier street (map). It is only a short 10-minute stroll from the hotel.

This page only presents a few of Montreal's many restaurants. If you would like other suggestions, we'd be happy to help you at the hotel's front desk. Thank you for sharing your Montreal dining experience with us, as we will use your information to update and improve our Virtual Concierge. Our e-mail address is located at the bottom of this page.
