If you are visiting the eastern section of Montreal (where the Biodome is), consider visiting the Tower of the Olympic Park (map). You'll have a view of Montreal from a unique vantage point. The Botanical Garden (map) is located nearby as well.

St-Joseph's Oratory (map) is one of the most visited destinations in Montreal. Getting there by car is possible and (paid) parking is available on-site. If you don't mind walking a few minutes, the metro offers the best way to get there, as "Côte-des-Neiges" station is close-by (map). If you visit during the summer, make a point of visiting the Oratory's garden, as it is beautiful and inspiring; it is also one of Montreal's best kept secrets.

Montreal's Old Port (map), which is located near the hotel, harbors many activities, shops and restaurants. The Montreal Science Center has fascinating exhibitions for children and an Imax theater is also there. If you're able to walk, the best way to get there is on foot, as it is only 20 minutes away and most people enjoy going through Old-Montreal on their way (map).

If you are a thrill-seeker, you might want to go to La Ronde (map), which is Montreal's "Six Flags" theme park. Numerous rides are available, including of course the Boomerang, the Vampire and the Monstre (Monster). There is paid parking on-site, but most visitors elect to take the metro to get to La Ronde (map by metro). To do that, take the yellow line to Jean-Drapeau station, then take bus #767 to the entrance of the park. Alternatively, you can also ride bus #769 from Papineau station.
